Countdown
The in-laws are coming today and staying until January 5th. Which means I have approximately 4 hours to do 25 pounds of laundry.
Yes I weighed it, shaddup.
Am I the only person who has relatives stay for extended periods of time? Every time I tell somebody that my in-laws stay for 2+ weeks at a time each time they come down from Seattle, whoever I’m talking to invariably looks at me as though I’ve just grown a second head.

Whoa, 2 weeks? That’s a LONG time. When we visit inlaws we have a 4-day rule. When they come to see us it is never for longer than an extended weekend.

Well if you’re okay with that, you’d obviously have to have a second head. One to listen to the important stuff and another to listen the ramblings that the in-laws create.
Or is this just mine? Good luck!

My sister’s mother-in-law is a constant addition to their house….in fact the new house they are buying has an extra room in it just for her…to my sister’s ever lasting dismay.

Yes, I know, the look of “are you a moron, or just a glutton for punishment?”. I hate it, especially since my mother and I actually DO have issues with one another in close living quarters. But it just can’t be helped -especially around the holidays. It’s either she’s here with us for two weeks, or she’s alone at home while my father goes about his holiday business with his own family and whatnots. Up until now I thought I was the only one having to endure the relative staying AND the mockery of my friends. And, yes, I too have twenty five pounds of laundry to do (I know because it weighs just slightly more than Jas!).

It’s not that you’re the only person whose in-laws have stayed so long. It’s that you’re the only sane person whose in-laws have stayed so long.
Haha, when I saw the 25 lbs., I thought, she weighed it? And you realized we’d all probably think that. I laughed out loud.
