Growing up my mom had an in home daycare, so I've never had the problem of playing with children. Maybe it doesn't come naturally, but it sure was learned. There is nothing I love more than playing the same games over and over, especially with my own children.

The best books are the old books, dr. seuss, berenstein bears, maybe even start reading a shorter chapter book like some Judy Bloom. We've been reading edgar allen poe at bedtime. I lay her down and then read out loud. It's more my speed, but helps develop a strong vocabulary.

It is so nice to see that I am not the only one who is nervous about taking care of other people's kids. I feel totally comfortable in my abilities to take care of my daughter (almost 2), but when I have to help out in the church nursery I feel so inadequate and clumsy.
