Sweet Sleep

My daughter has been asleep for two hours. TWO HOURS.

At this point, I would like to make it clear to all you moms whose children willingly and consistently partake in “THE NAP” without you having to beg, plead, and run around in circles beating your head against the wall - I don’t want to HEAR. IT.

For the past several weeks, Button has refused to even consider napping for me. For me. She’ll nap for hours at a time when my mom has her. She took two long naps every day when her other set of grandparents watched her. But not for me. When I’m around she is SO. OVER. the nap. Not a single ounce of sleep during the day. And it’s not as though she sleeps more at night or anything.

Miraculously, I believe that phase is coming to an end. I can feel the sanity returning to my brain, my left eye has stopped twitching, and I’m quite sure there are angels singing outside my window. This is the third day in a row in which I have successfully witnessed her drifting off to sleep. Usually it’s only for about an hour, but I’ll take what I can get.

Today is an especially good day.

Update:  Total Nap count = 2 hours, 55 minutes.  Suuuweeeet.

I won’t say anything, except that my bug goes through this about once every six weeks. She does great for everyone, but me. I wish it was just napping though, it tends to be everything. She doesn’t want to take a bath, she doesn’t want to eat, she doesn’t want to brush her teeth…etc.

A few days pass and we are back to normal. Must just be the age. I hope you got a bit of a nap in too!
