Dear Amy,

I went through what you're describing a year ago. I hung in there at my Center, with the hope of Things To Come. It's funny, because I had the exact same analogy of Jumping Ship. But, at times, you just have to go ahead and decide. My skills and education were not being fully utilized, and we were not acting in line with our mission statement. Finally, I decided that I'd like to be the one to make the decision to leave, instead of being told that the Center was closing. It's less stressful to look for work when you are not unemployed and crunched to find something.

It was absolutely the right decision for me.

So, I understand what you're going through. I hope you're able to decide, and feel good about whichever choice you make!

Make sure that you take time to de-stress. A move, a major purchase, and a (possible) job change all have numerous factors that rate on the Stressful Life Events scale.

Oh, and, Hah-hah. congratulations on your homeless status!

Take care.
